Good question, and the answer is you do have to physically look at the hinge of your RV's vent in order to know the cover you need. There is no way to know any specific trailer parts based just off of the year, make and model of trailer.
If you refer to the accompanying photo I added, you can see that there are four types of hinges:
A continuous hinge such as the Ventline # BVD0449-A01, 4-point hinge such as the Replacement Lid for Jensen RV Roof Vent # CAM40154, and 3-point hinge such... view full answer...
The mounting hardware that comes with Camco Aero-Flo RV Roof Vent Cover # CAM40421 will remain covered and protected from the elements most of the time. It can swing open for access to the vent but otherwise it is closed. Given enough time any hardware could start to form corrosion. view full answer...
I went and pulled a trailer roof vent # 9106-2756 from the warehouse. I used a magnet to check to see if it was steel and the magnet immediately stuck. This is not a fool-proof way to determine material but given the other characteristics of the vent, the black powder coat, that is a strong indication that it is steel.
We have a similar aluminum model, # RV-626-062. view full answer...
The Replacement Round Screen for Maxxair RV Roof Vents part # MA05-30925 is a metal screen. It is a slightly finer mesh than the original but is still metal.
I do not have any replacements that offer a different material but if high humidity is common which seems to be the case in your area treating it with a spray clear coat will do wonders to prevent corrosion issues. view full answer...

If you wanted a total metal vent then you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 which is also a manually operated vent. The thing about this kit though is that it will keep out bugs and debris when left open but not rain. To keep it open while it is raining you would need to use a cover like the MaxxAir Standard... view full answer...
I reached out to the manufacturer, Camco, who told me the gasket of the Camco Universal Fit RV Roof Air Conditioner Gasket Kit # CAM25071 is made from a mix of PVC and rubber.
This is a universal fit that uses self-adhesive and measures 14" x 14" which is a standard opening for an AC unit/vent on an RV. view full answer...
The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer - 10 Cu Ft - 12V - Stainless Steel # 324-000119 does use a scroll compressor made by Wancool. It is 12v @ 60hz, rated current 2.5 amps. It draws about 11 amps per hour and has a noise level of 34 to 42 dB.
I don't have the compressor dimensions as it is encased however the entire unit is 23-1/2" wide x 24-3/4" deep x 59-5/8" tall. The cubic feet per minute of the fan is not something they have tested but an educated guess is around 70 cfm. view full answer...
